ABOUT UNBOUND LEARNING
Meet Amalia Pock
Unbound Learning is the consultancy project of Amalia Pock (formerly Lopez). As an educational leader and systems thinker with over fifteen years of experience in transformative schools and working with second order change, Unbound Learning represents Amalia leveraging her experience to systems, educators, and learners who look to engage education reform and redesign.
As a high school principal of Alternative Education settings, former Director of Special Projects and federal grant manager, curriculum specialist, and classroom teacher, Amalia has spent her career doing the work that Unbound Learning is designed for — not theorizing about change, but engineering it.
Her work has led some of the most underserved learning communities in California's Central Valley to remarkable outcomes, including 3 model school awards issued by the California Department of Education. Amalia has led the work of designing and implementing large scale grants focused on teacher recruitment, development, and retention, co-authored publications on personalized and competency-based learning, and contributed to state and national education policy boards. At her core, she is a learner-centered educator driven to transform education to serve all learners dignity, equity, and visibility.
